It's been a whole month! I always have lots of computer time but it's usually when Bailey is nursing or napping on me so I only have one hand free and typing more tha a sentence or two isn't easy!
June was a super busy month for us with back to back company! It was lots of fun but I am still working on washing all the towels and sheets! The month started with Priscila coming up to meet her niece! When we dropped her off at the airport we picked up Nikki! After Nikki left we had a few days before my friend, Brynn came for a few days. After that is was Chris, Thomas, and my mom and dad! The next day was July 1! Patrick was promoted to Sargeant on the 1st! Bailey screamed through the whole ceremony. I was pinning him on so I couldn't hold her. A woman that works with Patrick was on "baby duty". Bailey didn't know her and so she screamed :-( Once I got her back and fed her all was good again! Patrick had a 5 day weekend for the 4th. We ran a bunch of errands and also spent a lot of time being lazy! Bailey likes to sleep in like we do as long as she's sleeping in the bed with us. I move her to the bed in the mornings if we want to sleep in! Poor thing had tmmy troubles on the 4th and slept a lot of the day but she was awake to watch fireworks and she liked them! I did a little promoting of my business and now I am super busy! Hopefully Bailey cooperates the next couple weeks so I can fill all of my new orders!
Bailey turns 3 months tomorrow! What a big girl! She is growing and changing so much. I love watching all of the new things she does. She is making the cutest sounds now!
An update on Bailey...
~ She now enjoys her stroller (most of the time!). She likes is best after we have driven somewhere. When I try to just go for a walk she still fusses. I think I am going to get something to entertain her while we walk!
~ Tummy time has never worked but she is getting better at it! We spend a few short minutes once or twice a day doing tummy time on the bed with a pillow but it's better than nothing! She has always screamed in the past when we would try. She has a very strong neck, she can hold her head and shoulders up with no problems for quite a while but she doesn't really use her arms too much. She will use them some but I'd like her to use them more! I don't want her to be behind on rolling over!
~ She has discovered her fists! She loves to suck and chew on them. She has had her fists clenched tight from day one but she is starting to spend more time with open hands. I think all of the pain she has had with her tummy and colic has had a lot to do with her staying clenched.
~ She has been taking short naps in her swing. Naps are scarce around here! She naps 20-30 mins at a time a few times a day. No schedule. I would like her to take one or two good naps a day but I never napped as a baby so I guess I can't expect her to! haha!
Oh my.. I'm getting tired and my brain is slowing down.... I know there is more!
A few last thoughts....
~She smiles all the time. I LOVE it!
~She is "talking" a lot. She makes the CUTEST sounds!! "ah goo", "heyyy" and little grunts!
~There isn't much that bothers her. I can cut her nails, suction her nose, play with her hair and she just smiles at me! She also doesn't mind anything I put on her.. socks, shoes, bows, etc..! I'm so happy she is easy going in this way!
~She loves wearing her suglasses when we are outside! It is the cutest thing!! I didn't think she would like them but she is much happier when the sun isn't in her eyes. It's like she uderstands that they help!
~She doesn't like people holding her that aren't mommy. This makes me a little sad. Everyone has to try very hard and keep moving if they want to hold her. She is a Momma's girl for sure! I hope she starts easing up a little soon with this. She is starting to let Patrick hold her for short periods without crying though and that is so wonderful! I felt horrible when she would cry with him!!
~Toys are starting to become interesting. I cannot wait until she can play in an excersauser! I think and hope she will love it!
~She still likes to nurse every 2-3 hours during the day. At night she sleeps about 6-7 hours, wakes up to eat then sleeps another 4-6. Her little body doesn't seem to go a certain number of hours at night it's more like she has a little alarm clock that goes off sometime in the 5 o'clock hour and then again between 10-11am no matter what time she goes to bed. She is a night owl which fits just perfect in our house! She goes to bed between 10-11 usually. Sometimes later if she took an evening nap.
Guess I got a second wind! I am getting sleepy again now though and it's late so I am going to bed!!
