Although I have a few really good friends here in Wilmington I really miss my VA and FL friends!! I miss my neighbors from Quantico! Almost every time I walked out my front door there was someone outside to chat with and I loved that! Here we live on a small culdesac and no one is ever home or outside! Lame! haha. Patrick and I LOVE to have friends over for cookouts, game nights, football or whatever and we don't have anyone here to have over. Most of my friends here are busy with their own families and are at different stages in their lives than we are. It has been wonderful to have people here though to help with Bailey especially in those couple weeks when she just screamed all day!! Just miss our friends that we spent so much time with! That's the military life I guess but not living near base makes it hard to make new friends since I'm not working and at home most days with Bailey. I need to meet more stay at home mommies!
This month is going to be fun!! Patrick's sister is coming up tomorrow for the weekend then my sister comes for the following week! Later in the month my friend is coming down (hopefully) from VA to visit and do my hair then my mom and a couple friends from FL are coming up!! I am super excited for all the company!!!
Bailey is 8 weeks old today! Where does the time go!?!? The days feel long but the weeks seem to be flying by! She is growing fast! She is almost fitting in all of her 3 month clothes. Some are still a little too big but all of her newborn stuff is packed up. Her hair is so long!! She has a little thin, almost balding spot on the back of her head but otherwise she has a ton of hair! We opened her a savings account yesterday! Here are a few of Bailey's likes, dislikes and other things....
Likes-
~She loves her changing table! It's so funny but if she's screaming we can lay her on the changing table and she will almost always start smiling!
~She likes to be held my Mommy and mommy only most of the time!
~Her bouncer seat. She only likes it for short periods (15 mins tops sometimes longer) but it's one of the only spots she likes to be left alone.
~Her paci. She has learned to love her paci which I am ok with because with her colic we had a couple really bad weeks so now that she will take her paci and it really helps her to calm down I am one happy Mama!
Some things she kinda likes or tolerates-
~The carrier. If Patrick is wearing it and doesn't stop moving she is happy in it! That is how we grocery shop! She doesn't really like it when I'm wearing it... it's weird!
~The car seat. She is only happy in the car seat if the car is moving and someone is sitting in the back with her to hold the paci!
~The swing. She has to be in a good mood to sit in the swing and then she will be happy swinging for about 10 mins!
Dislikes-
~The stroller. She screams every time we put her in the stroller which makes me sad! I hope she starts liking it eventually, I was really looking forward to taking her for walks to get myself back in shape!
~Tummy time. Every time I lay her on her tummy she fusses :( I keep trying hoping one day she'll like it! She lays on her tummy on my chest when I'm laying down and can hold her head up so we are getting some tummy time in but not as much as I'd like and not on the floor or playmat yet.
~To sit still. She likes to be moving all the time or if she has her paci and Mommy is holding her then she will sit still for short periods before fussing.
~Being put down or left alone. So far she does not like to be away from me for long at all unless she is sound asleep. It is very sweet to be loved so much by her but it is very hard to do things!!
She is definitely changing everyday so those lists may be completely different in another week or two! Hope some of the "dislikes" make it to the "like" list haha!! Now that she is happy (with me) a lot of the time, I am wondering how much of the crying she does is still colic or if she just likes to get her way! Hummm... she may be smarter than we give her credit for!!
